TWO PLEDGES—
The first without the second tightly intertwined
Is of a nation which has in vain been designed:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the free;
     I pledge obedience to the God who gave us liberty;
And to the favored land Old Glory represents;
     And to His Son, His only begotten Prince,
One nation, indivisible, under the God who gave our country birth;
     One God, omnipotent, over all nations upon the Earth,
With liberty and justice for one and all,
     With salvation for all who upon Him call.
