TODAY
Today
is the day in which to be glad,
Knowing that life’s good far outweighs its bad;
Let thanks and rejoicing from your heart spring;
You never know what tomorrow will bring.
Make
every minute of today’s hours count;
Let no challenge be too great to surmount;
Seize opportunities lest they take wing;
You never know what tomorrow will bring.
Do everything you do with all your might;
Tasks done with half-heart are never done right;
Do them today, with will unwavering;
You never know what tomorrow will bring.
Be troubled not by someone’s unkind word,
Nor let your joy by gossip be deterred;
Bury in today criticism’s sting;
You never know what tomorrow will bring.
Don’t make pessimism part of your style;
Today’s full of things meant to make you smile;
Don’t to failures and disappointments cling;
You never know what tomorrow will bring.
In all you do, make your efforts well placed,
For time is a gift too precious to waste;
Do something today worth remembering;
You never know what tomorrow will bring.
Don’t
put off appreciating your friends,
And forgiving hurts, and making amends,
And losing grudges you’ve been harboring;
You never know what tomorrow will bring.
Lay up prayers today for tomorrow’s tests;
Put them in God’s hands, He’ll do the rest;
You can ever be sure of this one thing:
He always knows what tomorrow will bring.
Be your own person, with God in control;
He gave you a mind to go with your soul,
So don’t be Satan’s puppet on a string,
You and God choose what tomorrow will bring.
