UNTIL YOU
CAME ALONG
No one ever called me Daddy
Until you came along;
Although its first sound was Da da,
It filled my heart with song.
None ever filled
me with the joy
That only fathers know,
Until you came and stole my heart
And set my face aglow.
No one ever swelled me with pride;
I thought none ever would,
But then I got to watch you grow
From child to womanhood.
Although the years have quickly flown
Since first you came along,
To hear you call me Daddy still
Fills me with pride and joy and song.
