The King is coming, He’s coming once more;
This time His coming won’t be as before;
He will not arrive on this sinful earth
As a helpless babe born of Virgin birth;
Nor will He be wrapped in swaddling clothes
Nor in a manger bed will He repose;
His manner will be neither meek nor mild;
Nor by tongues of men will He be reviled;
Nor will He suffer stripes and scars of men
Nor die on a Cross to pay for our sin;
The King is coming, He’s coming again.
King is coming; the moment draws near;
The clouds will open and He shall appear
With His eyes ablaze and crowns on His head;
The hem of His robe with blood will be red;
He’ll arrive astride a horse of white hue
Whose rider is called The Faithful and True;
The name upon Him is one no man knows;
With justice He’ll judge
and conquer His foes;
From out of His mouth shall come a sharp sword
To strike down nations with wrath of the Lord;
The King is coming men’s sins to reward.
King is coming, will it be for you?
Will He take you Home when this life is through?
Is your name written in His Book of Life?
Or is your soul still mired in sin and strife?
When the Spirit called, were you moved to say,
“I am not ready, come another day?”
Did you choose the world instead of the Son,
Hell and not Heaven, when this life is done?
When every knee bows as He comes in view,
Will you confess Him and bow your knees too?
The King is coming; is He coming for you?
