One thing is sure: Iím not a cat;
Iíve no desire to chase a rat;
I have no tail or coat of fur;
Yet, when youíre near I purr, purr, purr.

Iím like a cat to one extent:
This thing I do when Iím contentó
It may sound funny, but itís trueó
I purr, purr, purr when Iím with you.

I hate catnip; I donít meow;
Still, to me, itís amazing how
Something deep inside me you stir
That always makes me purr, purr, purr.

I donít lap milk; I have no fleas;
I have no claws for climbing trees;
Iím no cat, but when youíre around,
I make a purr, purr, purring sound
