Individual Note:
     INFORMATION: This note was written by Gene Barber. " Daniel, Jr was born in
either Ware or Camden Co. ( That part now Charlton Co.), Ga. or in Madison Co.,
Fla. He married Eliza Anna Jane Durrance, a daughter of William and Laurania
Prescott Durance. Eliza Jane was born in 1837 and died in 1908. She was from
Echols Co., Ga.
     Dan and Eliza Jane lived for a while near the Okeefeenoke Swamp where he
engaged in trapping and hunting. After a stay in the area of Benton in Columbia
County, he moved his family to Possum Trot. He died in 1910 in either
Jacksonville or Columbia Co. and was buried by his first wife in Mt. Zion(Swift
Creek) Cemetery."

     INFORMATION: This note was written by Gene Barber. " Daniel, Jr was born in

The plaque, on theOrganization of the Beards Creek Primiti ve Baptist Church in Tattnall County,lists a Samuel and Ezekiel Thornt on as two of those involved in the church origin. Ezekiel was probably a b rother. Membership lists of the church shows Samuel Thornton and wife Naom i; Ezekiel and wife, Sarah; Elizabeth O'Steen, other of Isaac's future wif e, Mary; Sara O'Steen, wife of Obadiah, son of William and Elizabeth O'Steen.
