Gladys Hicks

Funeral services for Gladys Hicks (77) of Jacksonville, Florida were held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2005 in the chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Boyd officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Brandy Branch Baptist Church, Bryceville, FL. Mrs. Hicks was born May 11, 1928 the daughter of the late Wade Hamp Hicks and the former Eva Sikes. She passed away May 30, 2005. Mrs. Hicks was a native of Nassau County and resided in Jacksonville for the past 60 years, retiring from St. Luke®s Hospital as a switch board operator. As a member of Franklin St. Baptist Church, she attended faithfully.

Survivors include: Son, Donald Hicks; Two Granddaughters, Melissa Laiman and Cheri Wright Hicks; Great Granddaughter, Victoria; Four Sisters, Audrey (Robert) Hawkins, Dorothy (Mike) McPherson, Edith (Wendol) Hatcher, and Betty (Lamar) Nelson; Three Brothers, Edward (Gail) Thomas, Owen (Laverne) Thomas, and Cecil (Linda) Thomas; Two Sister-in-laws, Esther Thomas and Agnes Conner; Numerous Family and Friends. She was predeceased by Husband, Ray Hicks; Sister, Vina Bell Hicks; Four Brothers, C.B. Thomas, Linzie Thomas, Clyde Thomas, and Edgar Thomas.
