Dan Hill was the ideal first employee for me to have after my promotion to supervisor. His abilities, willingness to work, and graceful manner made my job easy. Then he was diagnosed as having MS (multiple sclerosis). Although the disease gradually diminished his physical abilities, he never let it affect his graceful manner. On sheer dogged determination, he survived several years beyond the life expectancy of suffers of the dreaded disease. Then he was afflicted with and even worse disease. Lung cancer accomplished what Dan's fierce will to live had not allowed MS to accomplish. There are no words penned by human hand that can do justice to the kind of man Dan Hill was, but I have tried my best.
