     Latricia Rogers "Trisha"

March 17, 1950 ~ March 26, 2009

Tricia Rogers, 59, of Angleton passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 at her residence, with her family at her side. Tricia's heavenly Father has taken her hand to continue her love of painting, gardening roses, decorating Victorian style and serving others. Her family is certain she's placing doilies and painting that heavenly Mansion over the hill top....all in her tireless spirit of emitting happiness.

Tricia was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Spirits on Fire Sunday School Class, the Channel Choir, and the United Methodist Women group. In addition, she attended every Bible study possible and was a regular at the nursing home services and sing-alongs.

Tricia loved her church work and was always the first one to volunteer for just about everything especially if it involved providing food. She was always cooking something for the church and many times for more than one event at the same time. Tricia always looked forward to doing God's work.

If Tricia saw something that was needed, she provided it. One time she bought a dozen lace fans for the choir loft because some choir members would get overheated under the strong lights. Another time, she painted beautiful murals in the children's center. Tricia loved her church and served it well.

While her church and relationship with Jesus Christ was the center of her daily life, her Grandchildren were her pride and joy ... Even though miles separated them, she generously traveled Interstate 10 numerous times to visit and cultivate a devoted relationship with her "Grandbabies". Because of her tender loving care, her Grandchildren loved nothing more than to be with their Grandma and even make the thousand mile trip back to Texas to be with her at her house. Tricia's desire was to provide the most loving "soft spot to land" in her home. And she accomplished exactly that for her Grandchildren. They will remember her and celebrate her life forever.

Tricia committed her life to family and friends. It was always important to her to instill traditions and "make memories". Just a few are the annual Gingerbread House making event, Tea Party friendship time and regular fellowship at Cracker Barrel. Tricia has been instrumental in countless fun times that she unselfishly has given her family and friends who, in her honor, will happily continue those traditions and keep those precious memories alive.

Tricia was born March 17, 1950 in Jacksonville, Florida to Laverne & Iona Kinsey. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Angleton and belonged to the Red Hat Society and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN).

Tricia was preceded in death by her father, Laverne "Booster" Kinsey and her two sisters, Hazel Louise and Gerri Lynn Kinsey.
