Beauford Cornelius Braddock
Bataan Death March
POW Japanese Prison Camp
Oct. 18, 1912 - June 12, 1942
He was in the 16th Squadron, 27th Bomb Group, stationed at Hunter Field, Savannah, GA, then sent to the Philippines on the SS President Coolidge, leaving San Francisco on November 1, 1941, stopping at Hawaii on November 6, 1941 and arrived in Manila on November 20, 1941. The details of what happen to him next are speculation at this point. I have read that upon arrival in Manila they were sent to Ft. McKinley. The last message from Beauford was dated April 1, 1942 stating he was "safe somewhere in the Philippines". His parents, Mrs. and Mrs. L. F. Braddock, were advised through the War department of their son's death.
